LG specializes in delivering top quality and value at competitive prices. With it's 47 inch LCD TV, the 47LH40, LG has delivered what may arguably be the best value in an entry level large screen television. One of the drawbacks of LCD when compared to plasma television has traditionally been motion blur, the propensity for the display to be unable to refresh fast enough to display faster action. This is a major drawback for avid sports fans and for action movies. But like other leading LCD televisions, the 47LH40 television features a 120hz refresh rate, twice as fast as previous LCD televisions. This technology, which LG calls "True Motion," virtually eliminates motion blur and improves picture quality at different viewing angles.
Also critically important is black reproduction for better contrast. This has also traditionally been one area where LCD televisions have suffered compared to their plasma counterparts. But LG raises the bar here to with a decent, though not industry leading, 70,000:1 contrast ratio.
